Bag Boy

E-mail Bag Boy:
Born in Chicago, RedEye's resident sports grump has lived here all his life, because as much as it pains him to suffer through the local sports seasons, he knows it would hurt him even more to do it in a place that doesn't serve a decent Italian beef sandwich.

Like any superhero, his true identity remains a closely guarded secret, although you should know this: He's done a number of jobs around the city, including a stint at the Merc. He saw Walter Payton break Jim Brown's rushing record, he spent many afternoons at old Comiskey Park and Wrigley Field, and he misses the organ at the Chicago Stadium.

Since then, he's made several Chicago radio appearances in between venting his spleen each Friday in RedEye's sports pages.

And yes, ladies, he's single.

Why didn't he remove the bag after the Sox won the 2005 World Series? Oh, he did, but he had another one on underneath. This is how deeply scarred one Chicago sports fan's soul can be.
